Pete De Bono

Pete De Bono passed away on September 25th at Mt. San Rafael Hospital after a short illness. He was born on July 22, 1935, to Frank and Carmela De Bono. A lifelong resident of Trinidad, he will be remembered by many as the charismatic car salesman who sold them their first and future cars over his many years as salesman in the Trinidad car dealerships. After serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1960 where he was stationed in Tucson, Arizona, and Newfoundland and was trained to be a fireman and after being honorably discharged, he returned home and began selling cars, a job he enjoyed for over thirty successful years. Pete was a member of the Knights of Columbus and always enjoyed playing cards with his friends and family during the holidays.

In 1961 he married Nettie Franch, the love of his life. He is survived by his wife Nettie, his brother Carl De Bono, his brothers-in-law Gerald Franch and Kenny (Florence) Franch, sister-in-law Gaylene Schlagether, and sister-in-law Saundra Lamden as well as numerous nephews and nieces: Judene (Holly Burggraf) Amidei, Darlene (Jeff) Paul, Denise (Fabrice) Pilato, Brandi (Steven) Brown, Taylor and Kaileigh Phelps, Fiona Brown, John and Alex Pilato, Larry (Pam) Corradino, Laurie Jo Corradino Freland, and Richard Corradino.

Preceding him in death are his parents, his sister and her husband Rosalie and Mario Amidei, his younger brother Frank De Bono, Jr., and his sister-in-law Nancy Franch.

Pall bearers will be Eli De Bono, Mike DiPaolo, Louis DiPaolo,

Viewing will be at Comi Funeral Home on Thursday, October 8th, 2026, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Services will be on Friday, October 9th, 2026, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Trinidad Catholic Cemetery with military honors.
