Madeline Delores Duran went to be with the Lord on September 25,2026. She was born on October 31,1934 to Joe and Andrea Velasquez in Segundo, CO and united in marriage to George Duran of Weston, CO on June 28, 1952, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Trinidad, CO.
Madeline was preceded in death by her husband George Duran, parents Joe (Andrea) Velasquez, in-laws John B (Grace) Duran, sisters in law Mary Ann Duran and Helen Craig, brother in-law Robert (Beatrice) Duran, beloved grandson Jack Wojewski.
She left her beautiful memories to her survivors. Children: George M (Kathy) Duran, Aurora, CO, Patricia (Frank) Presfield, Joplin, MO, William (Carolyn) Duran, Littleton, CO, Larry (Nathalie) Duran, Parker, CO and Patrick Duran, Lakewood, CO. Grandchildren: Larice Wojewski, Parker, CO, Jonathon (Brook) Trujillo, Joplin, MO, Jessica Duran, Elizabeth, CO, Virgil, Christine, Sylvia, Gracie, and July Duran, Littleton, CO. Juleon Duran, Roswell, NM, Manuel (Becca) Duran, Lakewood, CO, Daniel (Jasmine) Duran, Commerce City, CO. Great Grandchildren: Benjamin Jacob and Oliver Wojewski, Anthony and Alexander Trujillo, Andrew and Tristin Haigh, Delilah, Leona, William II, and Vera Duran, Natalie and Chloe Duran. Sisters: Elvera Serna, Segundo, CO and Dina Emilia Trujillo, Henderson, NV. Sister in-law, Phyllis (Dan) Jury, Ulysses, KS, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Madeline graduated from Primero High School. Her family was most important, and she spent the first 20 years of her married life as a homemaker, raising her 5 children. When they were grown, she attended Trinidad State College receiving an AA degree in Business. Her professional career included Las Animas County Health Department and later U.S. West, which required relocation to Denver, CO. She retired in 1995 and she and George returned to their home in Segundo, CO. They traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and enjoyed time spent with their children and grandchildren.
Over the years Madeline volunteered her time with several organizations; residing as Past President of Primero H.S. PTA and District Mother for FBLA. She was a member of the Primero H.S. Booster Club, Trinidad Eagles Auxiliary, Las Animas County Council of PTA’s, Phi Beta Kappa and served as a Board Member of the JFK Senior Center in Segundo. She was an avid reader, a Scrabble champ, and a Bronco and Rockies Superfan. She kept active bowling, camping, fishing and traveling.

A visitation will be held at the Comi Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, October 5, 2026, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.
The rosary will be at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Trinidad, CO, on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at 9:30am.
The funeral mass will be at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at 10:00am.
Interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO will be held at a later date.
