Joseph Felix Olguin, (Joe) passed away on June 29, 2026, at the age of 78. He was born in Augusta, CO on August 5, 1947, to Manuel and Maria Olguin, attended elementary school in Augusta, CO. Joe graduated from Aguilar High School and traveled to California to stay with family after graduation. Joe later enlisted in the military and was a veteran of two branches. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army before continuing his service in the U.S. Navy.
Joe was a member of St. Anthony’s Church and had a strong faith. When he was in good health, attended weekly mass, and made several trips a week to the Catholic Cemetery to clean the family plots, water the snowball tree, cut the weeds and pray. When Joe was unable to attend services, Uncle would often be seen sitting in silence with his head bowed in prayer.
Uncle Joe loved the Chicago Bears and often told us the Broncos didn't have a chance against them if they played each other, so we were lucky.
He could easily forget about the conversation at the sight of his favorite donut, although there wasn't one he didn't enjoy. Anything chocolate, a good pancake breakfast and reminiscing about his time overseas, before getting a fresh haircut would start his day off with a smile.
Preceding him in death are parents, Manuel and Maria Olguin; brothers, Adam Olguin, Manuel Richard Olguin, Gilbert Olguin, Rudy Holguin, and Edward (Eddie) Olguin; sisters; Virginia Olguin-Cope, Mary Gallardo and Marcy Gooden. Aunt Mary Reveterano, Uncle (Godfather) Felix Reveterano.
