It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Alice (Cole) Griffin, who passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026, at the age of 81.

Born on January 22, 1945, in Trinidad, CO, Mary was the beloved daughter of George W. and Josephine Cole. She grew up in Jansen, and her path in healthcare began at Trinidad Junior College, where she received her associate degree in nursing and discovered her passion for caring for others.

Mary will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, humor, faith, and the strength she carried through every season of life. She found joy in cooking, welcoming new friends, and being surrounded by her large family. Her nursing career was a true calling—whether working in hospice or caring for seniors in nursing homes, she brought comfort, compassion, and love to everyone she served.

She is survived by her children: Diana Adducci, John (Shirley) Gomez, Stephanie (Mark) Bybee, and Jenny Hyland; her grandchildren: Kyle and Ryan Gomez, Angelo and Santos Adducci, and Maxine and Sylvia Hyland‑Miller; and her great‑grandchildren: Lily, Matthew, and Javier Gomez. She is also survived by her siblings: Joseph (Lucile) Cole, Shirley Cole, Janet Cole, Deborah (Ron) Drapeau, and Penny (Ole) Linden. She was preceded in death by her parents, George W. and Josephine Cole, and her brothers Oney, George, and Bob Cole.

The public visitation will take place at Comi Chapel on Tuesday, June 9th from 3–6 PM. A memorial service will be held at Comi Funeral Home (1804 E Main St, Trinidad, CO 81082) on Wednesday, June 10th, 2026, at 1 PM, followed by the graveside service at the Catholic Cemetery. We welcom all family and friends are welcome to attend.

Mary will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
