Barbara C. Santos

Barbara Catherine Santos was born on September 26, 1937 in Trinidad, Colorado. She passed away unexpectedly on March 12, 2026, at the age of 88.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Ernest; her children, Robert and Cheryl; her son-in-law, Gary; her daughter-in-law, Teresa; her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brother, Thomas; and her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her children, Joseph and Veronica.

Barbara was a devoted mother, grandmother, and aunt whose love for her family was at the center of her life. She was an avid reader, rarely seen without a book in hand. She shared a deep love of travel with her husband, Ernest, exploring many beautiful places together, including Spain and Alaska. She especially cherished traveling with her grandchildren, creating lasting memories on many family trips.

Her grandchildren hold dear the many adventures they shared, including trips to Yellowstone, San Francisco, Disney World in Florida, the Grand Canyon, and the Petrified Forest, as well as camping in Jawbone and Sycamore Flats. She passed down her love of camping, a tradition her grandchildren continue to enjoy to this day.

Barbara was also deeply devoted to her faith. She found great joy in singing in the choir, faithfully attending weekly Mass and doing the Rosary every night. 

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to UC Health Memorial Central for the compassionate care they provided and for allowing them to spend precious time with Barbara in her final moments. She was surrounded by her husband, daughter, and son-in-law.

Barbara was truly loved and will be forever missed. During this difficult time, the family kindly asks for privacy and space as they grieve and navigate this loss.

The services will be held on Monday, March, 23, 2026 at Holy Trinity Church. The rosary is at 12:00pm and the funeral mass is at 12:30pm.
