Lillian Bueno

02.26.26

With heavy hearts and unwavering faith, we announce the passing of our cherished mother and grandmother, Lillian (Vera) Bueno, a truly remarkable woman of God whose life was a living testament to faith, humility, and unconditional love. She left this world peacefully after 95 beautiful years, just as she had always prayed, she would — surrounded by love and carried home by the Lord she served so faithfully.

She was the truest example of an angel here on earth. Her devotion to the Catholic Church was the foundation of her life. A faithful servant, she attended Mass regularly and prayed the rosary every single day without fail. Her rosary beads were never far from her hands, and her prayers never far from her lips. She believed wholeheartedly in the power of prayer, and we know that her daily petitions to Heaven covered and protected her family. It is because of her steadfast faith that generations of our family stand strong today. Her prayers saved her family more times than we will ever fully understand.

Family was the true calling of her heart. She was incredibly sharp-minded and could recall the smallest details about each and every loved one. Her devotion to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was unwavering. With boundless love and patience, she helped raise nearly all of her granddaughters and many of her great-grandchildren, instilling in them wisdom, discipline, compassion, and a deep faith.

Her home was a sanctuary — a place of warmth, guidance, and constant prayer. The scent of her famous banana bread often filled the air, just as her presence filled every room with love. She led not with loud words, but through quiet example, teaching us to love God faithfully, work diligently, forgive freely, and cherish one another deeply.

She was also a devoted partner to her beloved husband, Manuel Bueno, with whom she shared 73 beautiful years of marriage (1950-2023). Together they built not only a life but a legacy. As co-owner of C&H, she worked tirelessly by Manuel’s side as his number one support. Though she was essential to its success, she preferred to remain in the background — humbly working in the back (pepping, cooking the secret fried chicken recipe, washing dishes and aprons) — never seeking attention, praise, or recognition. Her strength was quiet but unwavering, and her humility was one of her greatest virtues.

She is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Manuel Bueno; her son-in-law, David Doyle; her granddaughter, Deanna Torres, her daughter-in-law Lucille Bueno, her parents, sisters, brother, nieces, and nephews. We find comfort knowing that the joyful reunion must have been beautiful beyond words.

She is survived by:

Tony Bueno of Trinidad, CO, Theresa Doyle (Andy Armijo) of Trinidad, CO, Louise Aragon (Tony Aragon) of Pueblo, CO, Frank Bueno of Phoenix AZ, and Mel Bueno (Kathy Bueno) of Pueblo, CO.

10 granddaughters, grandsons, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren

Her legacy lives on in each of them.

To say she will be missed is an understatement. She will be missed more than anything — more than words can express. Her gentle voice, her steady prayers, her wise counsel, and her loving embrace leave a space in our hearts that can never be filled. But we rejoice in knowing that she has received the reward she so faithfully worked toward her entire life.

Well, done, good and faithful servant. Heaven has gained the most beautiful angel, and we will carry your faith and love with us until we meet again.

A special thank you to Mt Rose Hospice. Especially her nurse, Jeff Dowd RN, Aesha Cuba CNA, Dr Borsa, and of course her personal nurses — her beautiful daughter-in-law Kathy Bueno and her beautiful granddaughters Ashton Ring and Rikki Knox.

Services will be at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on April 10, 2026. The Rosary will be at 9:30 am and the funeral service at 10:00 am, with the graveside service to follow.

Any donations can be sent to Mt Rose Hospice.
